I’ve got the POWER…To ask my Dentist ANYTHING

L.A. PACIFIC crew members are informed and most of all empowered. We know that a trip to the dentist can be daunting so we've listed our top questions that you are ENTITLED to ask your Dentist...And well, any health practitioner really.

Take a screenshot, send it to your pals and make sure you ask before deciding to proceed:

1 - What other types of *insert treatment* are available and what are the differences between them?
It’s important to understand the full picture, know all the options available to you so you can be part of the decision making process.

2 - What sort of results can I expect?
Setting expectations is crucial to making sure you are choosing the treatment that’s best suited for you. That’s why we tell you on the first date that using our Enzyme Whitening toothpaste promises 82% stain removal in 2 minutes*

3 - What are the risks? Will it hurt?
Risky business – understanding the risks is a huge part of deciding to proceed with a course of treatment. Especially if there is a risk of it not working or causing more damage (aka mo money). It might seem scary to ask about the pain but pain exists to alert us to danger so being aware that it might come up may help to alleviate pain as intellectually you know that there is no danger and this is something you signed up to.

4 - Who will be carrying out the procedure? What training and experience do they have?
You wouldn’t let any Tom, Dick or Harry into your home so why let a stranger in a white coat into your mouth. Knowing where your dentist studied can be comforting, especially if your treatment requires specialised expertise. Check your national Dental Association for more information on registered practitioners. For example, the Irish Dental Association, American Dental Association and British Dental Association

5- Is the work guaranteed for a certain length of time?
You aren’t going to want to spend 2k if the results are only going to last a week. This also gives you a marker to check the quality of the treatment and make sure you get what was promised.

6 - What aftercare or guidance is provided?
There’s no point paying for a service and complaining if you didn’t do the follow-up. Sometimes we have to take responsibility. We recommend making sure you have the FULL low down on what you need to do and how often you need to do it to keep your pearly whites as healthy as possible.

7 - Who can I contact for advice after treatment?
Knowing there is someone there to contact with queries, concerns or general questions can be a great source of comfort. Hopefully you won’t have to use it but sometimes knowing is just enough.

8 - What happens if I am unhappy with the results?
Thinking it through and thinking it through from start to finish. That’s the way we roll. It’s always great talking about something through the lens of best-case scenario…but what happens if it goes wrong? What policies are in place? Will you be looked after? This is a huge support and can alleviate any anxiety if something does go awry.

It might seem like you’re being rude by asking or a burden…For us, if the Dentist (we are paying) won’t give us the time to answer eight relatively simple questions then we won’t be giving them our time (or money).

This is your right. Get ready. We got you.
